Guatemala is responsible for growing some of the finest coffees in the world. Due to a varied climate, soil conditions, seasonal rainfall, the mountainous altitude and relative temperature, the country has eight distinct coffee-growing areas.

Cultivated coffee from the North Western and highest region, namely the Huehuetenango ("way-way-te-nan-go") region is categorized as SHB (Strictly Hard Bean) which represents the highest quality. freshly-ground-coffee-at-home_2
